Reducing Parental Conflict Practice Session 2025-2026

This training is for all staff and partners who have attended both RPC Awareness and Toolkit training only. The course will look at the following areas:

As parental conflict is often present for families receiving support we will look at

1. Reminder how to ask about parental conflict
2. How to record this onto Mosaic or other systems
3. The use of the VSA model to record how peoples past might influence how they communicate, what the family are arguing about, and how they communicate with one another either positively or destructively
4. Which tools in the toolkit can help practitioners gather this information
5. Reminder of the toolkit and how antidotes to poor communication can be introduced.

There will be an opening period to allow staff to discuss with complete confidentiality, whether they feel confident to ask the right questions and what they find works and what doesn’t in respects of the toolkit.

This course is designed to give professionals the confidence to use the toolkit and challenge poor communication.
