Child Sexual Abuse: Supporting the Emotional Wellbeing of those Working to Protect Children.
Date & Time:
Venue:
Detail:
Staff involved in Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) investigations and safeguarding enquiries, as well as those who work directly with children who have experienced sexual abuse can be routinely exposed to traumatic accounts and materials.
We know that work of this nature can have negative effects on the emotional health and wellbeing of those seeking to keep children safe. This conference will focus on the importance of creating emotional safety for the workforce, both for ourselves and each other as peers and managers.
The conference will also be an opportunity to reflect with multi-agency partners on the following areas of practice:
- How best we assess and keep children safe from those who present a risk to children (particularly when there are no convictions)
- Complex Abuse Investigations
- Achieving Best Evidence
- Responding to children that report sexual abuse
